Message from Councilman Roshan (Roc) White | November 7, 2025
As a councilman for the Township of Scotch Plains and as a veteran, I am proud to serve a community where the values of service, sacrifice, and unity are deeply held.
My experience serving as a U.S. Marine overseas has instilled in me a profound respect for those who have answered the call to serve—both overseas and here at home.
Scotch Plains is built on the commitment of residents who give selflessly, and I am honored to represent both our veteran and civilian neighbors in local government.
We owe a debt to those who have worn the uniform. It is my priority to ensure that our Township continues to recognize and support veterans, not just with words, but with ongoing programs, resources and commemorations.
Together, we strive to ensure the freedoms and opportunities so many have sacrificed for remain strong in Scotch Plains.
That tradition continues on Tuesday, November 11 as we mark Veterans Day. The American Legion Post 209 will conduct ceremonies beginning at 11 a.m. with the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial at Park Avenue and Front Street.
Then, at noon, there will be a presentation of wreaths at the Fanwood Memorial Library, 5 Forest Road.
It is my hope that many members of the community attend these important events as we honor all members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
On behalf of Scotch Plains and our veteran community, I extend my deepest gratitude to our service members, past and present. May this Township always remain a place where their contributions are honored, remembered and celebrated.
