Message From the Office of Emergency Management

On Thursday, we are looking at a triple threat: Excessive Heat Warning, Potential for Strong to Severe Storms and Potential Flooding, flash and depending on amount of rainfall over the wrong areas, riverine flooding.

OEM emphasizes: If you see Water on the Roadway, do not drive through it, turn around and don’t drown. It should come as no shock to anyone driving on Route 22, East and West the Highway Flash Floods! During the July 14th Storm, numerous alerts went out over the Emergency Alert System starting at 3:45 issuing a Flash Flood Warning. Along with route 22, Scotch Plains has Streets that have been and still are subject to flash flooding and potential riverine flooding.
