Message From the Office of Emergency Management
Today’s weather briefing from the National Weather Service:
· Showers and thunderstorms along a slow moving cold front this afternoon and evening may produce torrential downpours, which may lead to flash flooding.
· A flood watch is in effect for the entire area from 2 pm this afternoon until 2 am Wednesday.
· A few thunderstorms could be severe this afternoon and evening with damaging wind gusts in excess of 58 mph.
· A heat advisory is now in effect for our entire area except the south fork of Long Island from 10 am until 8 pm. Max heat indices in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees are expected.
